Are you allergic to something?
by JH insome people have to almost live in a bubble, because they are allergic to so many products.. probably there is a difference between being allergic, and just plain sensitive to certain products.
in any case, are there things you just have to stay away from?
i can't stand cinnamon it totally burns me up.

JW young people...on the move...to where?
by Gill inmy experience as a jw teenager was total repression and control from my parents and i know that the majority of my friends at that age in the congregations suffered the same.. now...what's happening?!.
i come home and find a regular full time pioneer smooching with my non jw son on the sofa.. i"m reliably told that jw youngsters are in the local pub after each meeting and have to be thrown out at chuck out time.. they seem to behave in a far worse way that some non bible believing youngsters that i know.. are they finally feeling their feet and the wtbts due a huge exodus in the next few years?.
i'm slightly embarrassed at the behaviour of some of these youngsters when i'm told what they've been seen getting up to.. or am i just getting old?

I work in a pub. Not too long a go four folks in their early twenties came in and I noticed as I checked their IDs that each of them had a "No Blood" card in their wallet. I got them a pitcher of beer and a round of shots and they went to the pool table. 4 hours later they wanted more drinks and I cut them off as they were all SHITFACED. THey called me an "a**hole", a "f***ing pr**k", and I think one of them threw "faggot" in there as well. I calmly explained the law about serving visibly intoxicated persons and them told them I knew they were all witnesses, and what they thought their congregation would think of their language and drunken state. I decided to have some fun at their expense and told them I was studying and that they had really "stumbled" me. They took off for the door with their tails between their legs!!!! No tip though, cheap bastards.

i know most of us have been away with the fairies, for real.
so i can understand if some give the genre a wide berth.

Then there's "Faerie Tale" by Raymond Feist-spoooky.
Not so much fantasy, but still one of the best books I've read in a long time "American Gods" by Neil Gaiman- Excellent!

Unforgivable Sin?
by Low-Key Lysmith ini seem to remember back in my jw days, a scripture that said something to the effect that if you publicly denounce jehover, you would never be forgiven of it?
i really want to bring this up to my ever-persistant family as a good reason for me not to come back to meetings and try to be reinstated.
i have already told them that i will never, ever, ever come back, that i don't even believe in god per-se.

But I was wondering if I am really off-base here, or if there is a scripture that says something about not being forgiven for declaring yourself an athiest? Can any of you bible scholars out there help me out?

Are you still the nice polite witness person inside?
by prophecor inor have you shed that polyester portion of your personality?
might that personality trait truly been authentic?
was that really who you were, or a cover because we were required to be so civilized?

I guess to some extent I still hold to some of the values I was taught. I do, however, occasionally get drunk, smoke pot, cuss, I live with my girlfriend, have lots of tattoos, Oh yeah and I have publicly said that I do not believe in God. I have never had problems making friends, though. I feel that fundamentally I'm still the same person, just liberated and a lot wiser when it comes to the real world. I do believe in loving my fellow man, I try to be honest, I don't steal, I'm not a murderer, I've never commited adultery. So I guess you could say I still hold to some of the things I was taught.
